Ultra Mobile PC's Such As Asus EEE
Asus EEE devices are taking the world by storm and have been designed to bring one to one access for many children with computing. The Asus EEE 700 was the first low cost PC to be launched from as little as £199, and is made in a stylish ligtweight 7" format.
Housing solid state flash drives from just 256mb RAM all the way through to 1048mb RAM, the Asus EEE devices have ability to run Linux or XP Pro operating systems. Linux is the cheaper option.
The Asus EEE has also now launched it's second generation in a slightly larger 8.9" version which has increased capacities of 12Gb and 20Gb options, and RAM upto 1024Mb.
Again running the Linux and XP Pro platforms, Asus are heading the market in low cost, portable computing access.
With many students now being given access to these machines at School, parents are also joining the world of low cost computing by purchasing these for home use.
